What the Consortium has done is brought e-resources to Cambodian libraries. So it has been founded with the purposes as follows:

1. To communicate to the students and scholars to be aware of the importance of e-Libraries since it is a wealth of knowledge, and an inevitable factor for this age—the age of technology.
2. To publish and promote the wide use of electronic information in contribution to developing the country of Cambodia, especially with respect to human resources.
3. To provide access to the researches without reference to time and place and the researchers can access information at fingertips.
4. To make available the new technology in the manner of globalization.
5. To facilitate the communication and the human resources training as well as the latest eIFL-related technology.
6. To promote better conditions conducive to raising funds for eIFL’s services and activities.

Cam-eIFL pursues these objectives through engagement in various activities. The activities carried out by members include training workshop, publishing leaflets, hosting website, and finding fund(s) to bring sustainability and availability to the Consortium.

The Consortium is an open organization

Cambodian Electronic Information for Libraries Consortium is fully accredited by the Cambodia Ministry of Interior as specified in letter No 609 dated on July 05, 2005.
